History

Beaverdell traces its roots back to the early 1900s, when it was first established as a mining town in British Columbia’s Boundary Country. The town’s name is actually a blend of two nearby communities: Beaverton and Rendell — eventually merged into Beaverdell.

In its early days, the area was known for silver mining, and you can still spot historic remnants around the area. The Kettle Valley Railway, once a vital route for transporting ore and goods, now lives on as part of the Trans Canada Trail— a favourite for hikers and cyclists.

Today, Beaverdell has left its mining days behind and evolved into a quiet, outdoorsy community — known more for fishing and snowmobiling than silver and gold. But the town’s heritage is still felt in its character, its people, and its strong sense of independence.
